Beauty is More Than Skin-Deep

    Beauty is More Than Skin-Deep

I approach the new year as a time to take a breath. Let our senses rest from the holiday
exuberance, focus a bit more clearly and celebrate the opportunities of what’s to come. Still, when it comes to the spaces we inhabit, this doesn’t mean ignoring visual impact. This can be a time to explore a monochromatic approach, as in the delicate ivory shades of this magnolia planter. Nestled in the lush foliage greens, these florals bring their own understated
    drama to this interior space.

And more than that, beauty makes us feel good.

As Ginger Curtis of Urbanology Designs said in a recent seminar, “Beauty provides nourishment, healing and wellbeing.” A growing body of research tells us that, far from being superficial, our aesthetic experiences affect us physically and emotionally and have a significant impact on the quality of our lives. So look around you, take a breath and recognize the importance of beauty in your life.
